DB Schenker Rail Automotive, Deutsche Bahn’s rail freight specialists for the automotive sector, now has its own website showcasing its services.
Customers and interested parties can find information about the company’s products and services as well as the relevant contact information at www.dbschenker.com/automotive. The site also contains additional interesting facts about innovative shipping concepts like transports to Russia and China as well as a new film about the company. Customers can now track the status of their consignments from the new Tracking & Tracing section.
DB Schenker Rail Automotive’s Europe-wide rail network comprises the Spain–France-Germany, Scandinavia-Italy and Germany-Russia corridors. The automotive industry network has grown to 20 countries and 18 hubs, reaching from Southeast Europe to Turkey and Romania, and from Portugal to Russia and all the way to China. With its fleet of 10,000 rail cars and 2,500 transport containers, DB Schenker Rail has an annual transport performance of four billion metric ton-kilometers. Every day some 250 trains – loaded with finished vehicles, supplier parts and components – travel within the European Automotive RailNet. DB Schenker transports around three million finished vehicles a year by rail using a dedicated fleet of 4,300 finished vehicle rail cars – the largest in Europe.
