The DB Schenker Award is given by the Stinnes Foundation and is considered one of the highest European honors for logisticians. The non-profit Stinnes Foundation, which is part of DB Mobility Logistics AG, was established in 1983 as part of the celebrations surrounding the 175th anniversary of Stinnes AG. Each year it hands out an award recognizing young scientists.

The award encourages academic work by young scientists in transportation and logistics that exhibits scientific excellence as well as a high degree of innovation and a benefit to the environment and society.
