Reduce CO2 in combined transport
DB Schenker combines the specific benefits of each transport mode in its multimodal supply chains – for example, the outstanding ecological balance of trains with the flexibility of trucks.
Off the roads and onto the rails in the main leg´
DB Schenker handles as much freight as possible by rail. Because its own trains almost exclusively run on environmentally friendly electricity, it can reduce emissions by up to 80 percent compared to conventional transport by road. Its trucks then pick up and collect the goods. They can reach the most remote corners of Europe so that customers can enjoy the convenience of door-to-door transport, even if they have no rail access of their own. This reduces overall carbon emissions by up to 60 percent.
DB SCHENKERhangartner takes over complete cargoes along the international corridors, while DB SCHENKERrailog takes conventional truck cargoes all over Europe, as well as offering numerous additional services.
