Your tasks
The purpose of this role is to process and input customs entries via EDI systems for cargo entering and exiting ports, serving both external and internal clients. This encompasses all aspects of import & export customs procedures and regulations.
Location: Santry
Hours: 0900 - 1730
What you will be doing
- Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and submitted within specified timeframes as directed by the department head.
- Adhere strictly to the procedures and timelines outlined in the 'General Working Procedure Imports' document.
- Promptly inform the Manager of any potential system issues.
- Immediately notify the customer upon completion of entry and confirmation of costs received from customs, including any local holds impacting planned delivery.
- Inform the Manager of any issues causing delays in customs clearance, especially those related to document problems that may incur demurrage costs.
- Complete and process all Duty and VAT invoices for which the company is responsible, and ensure compliance with internal departmental responsibilities.
- Comply with the Company's Compliance Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
About you
- Desirable customs clearance experience and familiarity with the air industry.
- Proficient in basic home-use customs clearance procedures.
- Essential strong Customer Service skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage high workloads, even in challenging situations, while meeting deadlines.
- Capacity for consistent and thoughtful decision-making.
- Rapid and precise data entry.
- Dedication to excellence and continuous improvement.
- High energy levels, sound judgment, and a sense of urgency to achieve goals.
