Alexander Winter (46) becomes the new CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Europe on 1 December. He succeeds Helmut Schweighofer (49), who recently took over the helm of DB Schenker Europe and has transferred to Germany.Born in Vienna, he graduated in law and began his career at DB Schenker around 20 years ago. He has been a member of the management team since 2013, where he was responsible for Ocean Freight and Contract Logistics. Prior to that, he worked in the Salzburg and Vienna branches, where he headed, among other things, the Vienna office and the Ocean Freight division.The new CEO, Alexander Winter, who will be responsible for managing more than 7,000 employees in 80 branches in 14 countries from 1 December, sees his primary task in "further expanding and sustainably strengthening DB Schenker's leading position in the Austrian and Southeastern European markets", as he said at the time of his appointment.DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern EuropeDB Schenker is an internationally active logistics service provider with 77,000 employees at 2,000 locations.
