Mid of June 2017 a team of DB Schenker colleagues from Turin joined together on a warm summer day to lend their helping hands to the Young Missionary Service SERMIG. Project leader Roberto Scarrone gathered his team on 14 June 2017 during half a day for this social activity. Together with a few permanent volunteers from the Missionary Center they made it happen! Their job was to sort durable food by type, quality, expiration etc. and then to pack everything into boxes, label them and prepare the parcels for shipment. Corporate Volunteering DB Schenker Italy

Roberto says: “Volunteering represents an extraordinary resource that contributes very importantly to the quality of life of our world. It’s a time of aggregation and increased awareness of the fact that dedicating to others is a gratifying and useful experience. Such experiences should be increased but above all it should be encouraged the participation of young people in voluntary activities. It was great to see ONE Team with ONE Goal!”

SERMIG was founded in 1964 and since then involve in defeating hunger with works of justice and development, living solidarity with the poorest and paying special attention to young people seeking the paths of peace together with them. Since 1964 more than 23.500.000 meals were distributed.
