DB Schenker to become jersey sponsor – Development of an innovative partnership at management level
International top performance up amongst the world’s elite – this is a constant goal that is shared by one of Germany’s most successful sports associations and one of the leading global logistics groups. The German Hockey Association (DHB) is delighted to welcome DB Schenker to its hockey family in the role of new premium partner. Over the next two years, the leading provider of integrated logistics services will support the players of the eight national DHB teams as shirt sponsor. DB Schenker will make its first appearance as DHB partner this Saturday, when the double EuroHockey Championships for both men’s and women’s teams start in Amsterdam (19-27 August, live on free TV on Germany’s Sport1 channel).

The agreement to cooperate also focuses on a specific concept: Over the course of the partnership, there are plans for a systematic exchange of experience between the top management of DB Schenker and DHB on the topic of leadership instruments, methods and skills. This will include, for instance, joint seminars designed especially for the purpose of enabling both sides to learn and benefit from the leadership experiences of the other party. An initial management workshop, attended by DHB women’s coach Jamilon Mülders and the top management of DB Schenker, has already taken place.
“Our target is to succeed in the face of competition each and every day and to lead the field in our industry and DB Schenker banks on highly motivated employees to achieve these goals. This platform for networking with DHB on leadership issues will establish an innovative partnership for the benefit of both sides,” says Thomas Schulz, Member of the Management Board for Human Resources at DB Schenker.
Jan Fischer, DHB Marketing Director, adds: “We are really looking forward to this new cooperation with such a highly reputed global player as DB Schenker. During our first joint session, we already sensed the keen interest that both sides have in the other party’s leadership principles and the responsible leaders. We are now planning to arrange a meeting for the DB Schenker managers and the leading actors at DHB, such as trainers, players and officials, so that they can continue to benefit from one another even more.”
