Job Title: Supversior, Account Set Up

Position Description Summary:
Responsible the overall supervision of the daily activities of the centralized account set up team (PoA) including but not limited to the compliance with import corporate standards and Customs & Border Protection regulatory requirements related to the establishment of accounts related to Customs Services, validation of clients Customs Power of Attorney and supporting documentation and the establihsmen t of accounts in all applicable customs services systems. Interact with clients, branch operations, sales, customer master and credit departments to ensure timely set up of accounts and resolution of any regulatory requirements that may impact the ability to set up and validate an account.

Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):

  • Supervisor all daily account set up activities in accordance to corporate policy and CBP regulations, guidelines and policies.
  • Supervise the daily activities of the Customs Master Data Coordinators to ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the account set up activities in all customs related systems.
  • Execute corporate objectives along with policies and procedures for the account set up process.
  • Establish and monitor workflows, prioritization, resource allocations and problem resolution processes.
  • Supervise the handling of account set up to ensure effective customer service.
  • Research and resolve customer complaints exceptions related to account set up, Power of Attorney and operational issues.
  • Support management with staff training, administrative duties and projects as assigned.
  • Monitor and maintain KPI performance at or above company standards.
  • Prepare and submit assigned reports as required.
  • Perform other and related duties as required.

Requirements

Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for Position:

  • Good interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred..
  • Customs brokerage license is preferred.
  • Generally prefer 2 years of related supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and Harmonized Tariff required.
  • General PC skills with working knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval.
