News, May 24, 2016 DB Schenker opens first owned logistics center in the Middle East State-of-the-art warehouse in the Dubai Logistics City (DLC), located next to world’s biggest airport.DB Schenker has opened and successfully started operating its first DB Schenker owned facility in the Middle East. The logistics center is located in the Dubai Logistics City (DLC), and is the first facility out of a three phase growth plan which should provide DB Schenker with a footprint in the DLC of approximately 25,000 sqm by 2019. The state-of-the-art logistics center has a warehouse space of 7,200 square meters with two mezzanine levels dedicated for value added services and spare parts operations. It contains temperature-controlled areas as well as ambient temperature zones. The facility became 100% utilized only two months after the go-live. “Dubai is our main hub in the region, and investing in the DLC was a strategical step to strengthen our network and to complete the DB Schenker service coverage in UAE.
