We are seeking an experienced Driver / Storeperson to join our team in Auckland on a fixed-term contract for 6 months.
You will be part of a critical team servicing a high-profile NZ business that requires time sensitive parts delivered with care and in a timely manner.
To be successful for this role you will need to be able to work after hours on an ad-hoc basis.
Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Safe and efficient driving of the company vehicles within the allotted time scales for the various transport requirements.
- Load and unload and place in position freight using the appropriate handling devices.
- Check all freight against appropriate documentation is received and delivered and have the customer sign the consignment note upon dispatch and receipt of goods.
- All required delivery and customer documentation is prepared correctly using accurate information.
- To monitor the operation and performance of the company vehicle, report deficiencies and request maintenance repairs as required.
- Perform daily / weekly checks and basic maintenance on all company vehicles before leaving the depot.
- The Driver is expected to keep the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition internally & externally within company standards.
- Assist with other Storeperson tasks as required.
- Some overtime and on call work may be required to service key customers from time to time.
Competencies and Skills required:
- Excellent communicator, honest and hard working
- A people person who enjoys building relationships
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Accurate with a high level of attentive to detail
- Previous experience as a freight driver preferred
- Understand the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace
- Full and clean drivers licence
- Class 2 licence
- Forklift license
Note: You must have a clean criminal history and pass a UN sanction check to be employed in this role.
