Traffic Coordinator (*)

Your tasks

  • being part of a dedicated and global 4PL/LLP control tower set up
  • European focus across all transport modes
  • support the control tower and required infrastructure development for the traffic coordination and execution
  • being part of the implementation team to ramp up new business
  • make sure that necessary routines for transportation management & respective transport flows are being established, documented and carried out
  • control that suppliers and customers adhere to routines and procedures through monitoring of production systems and EDI flows
  • facilitate the administration and management of international bulk and solid transports including intermodal
  • claim & deviation management
  • support procurement processes (e.g. tender)
  • participate in customer and supplier meetings regarding operational matters
  • file documents according to routine
  • invoice the customer for services rendered
  • help the Traffic Manager to compile required statistics for evaluation and follow-up of services executed
  • supplier performance management
  • analyse with the Traffic Manager actively the operations to make suggestions for continuous improvements
  • check supplier invoices according to authorization plan
  • maintenance of master data and rate cards
  • collaboration with third-party warehouses & terminals
  • administer third party agreements with freight forwarders

Key responsibilities:
  • manage transport flows within a lead logistics environment in Europe
  • take corrective actions within his/her field of responsibility
  • steer the allocated supplier portfolio on operational and administrative level
  • authorize according to authorization plan
  • acting as single point of entry for the respective customer departments


  • several years experience in the European transportation planning and execution across the transport modes
  • knowledge of transportation law, equipment, licenses, driving hours
  • environmental requirements and driving bans ideally linked to bulk handling
  • experience in customer relationship management on operational level
  • willingness to travel on need basis within Europe
  • convincing, tact and issue resolving
  • customer focused attitude
  • language skills: English (required) and ideally one additional European language
  • have the capability to work with a PC, Windows and Microsoft Office software packages and basic Excel skills and operational tools (TMS)
