Update 1 – Weather impacting operations on the East Coast

(Miami, FL 01/04 - 10am) We would like to update our network partners and customers on current Office closures and impacted operations.

Winter weather is impacting areas of the East Coast.  Operations currently affected by closures are

  • JFK
  • Newark
  • Freeport
  • Boston
  • Philadelphia

We have also been notified from various trucking partners advising of impacted operations in the following states:

FL, GA, SC, VA, PA, MA, VT, NH

Due to the evolving nature of the storms, some trucking terminals and ports have been or are scheduled to be closed, are already operating on a limited capacity, or are operating with limited services (such as freeze protection).

Additionally freight moving into or out of impacted areas may be held in place if in the impacted areas or will be held outside of the impacted area until weather conditions improve causing delays.

We will continue monitoring the current situation and will inform when normal operations resume.

Contingency plans are in place and, as always, our priorities are the safety and well-being of our team members and minimizing the effects of potential storms on service. You can keep up-to-date with any service advisories at www.dbschenkerusa.com

Logistics Best Practices During Adverse Weather Conditions
To help avoid delays, we encourage you to contact your recipients to verify whether their location is open or able to receive deliveries before and after the storm. In the event of evacuations, shipments not delivered before the storm will be secured in one of our facilities. Delivery will be attempted when it is safe to do so.
