Materials Planner - Contract Logistics/SCM (Ref. no.: LOG/090/RB)

Your tasks

This position is the responsible for the planning of materials to support the production-schedule. This position will manage inventory-levels to prevent shortages and maximum turns. Will work with cross-functional team (Eng, Ops, Finance, CS, GCM, etc) in support of operations-management. Will be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, by utilizing, monitoring & developing the supply-chain to meet internal & customer-requirements.

Your tasks:
  • Responsible for the planning of materials to support the production-schedules.
  • Forecast & plan assigned commodities.
  • Expedite & defer PO as required, based on backlog/ inventory-changes.
  • Setup & maintain MRP-planning parameters (MOQ, lead-time, safety-stocks/ Re-Order Points, alternative suppliers, etc).
  • Monitor & report key-performance metrics, including inventory-levels, shortages and order fulfilment lead time metrics.
  • Effectively interact cross-functionality with Engineering, Production & Finance.
  • Prepare & analyze reporting as needed.
  • Determine and establish optimal inventory-levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead-times, to ensure continuous production whilst maximizing turns.
  • Coordinate material-flows throughout product/ BOM changes, obsolescence and the introduction of new suppliers and/ or materials due to new product development.
  • Develop thorough working-knowledge of assigned commodities and associated supplier base.
  • Develop a thorough working-knowledge of MRP-system.
  • Ensure and promote compliance to company planning policies and procedures.


  • Degree-level and/or equivalent work-experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar role, in a production environment.
  • Working-knowledge of ERP/ MRP systems, INFOR preferred.
  • Expert applied knowledge of forecasting, MRP, transportation, supply-chain, inventory-management and warehouse disciplines
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively interact at various levels of the organization, with a logical and organized approach.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, display initiative and solve problems with proficiency.
  • Must be ‘hands-on’ with strong analytical-skills and good problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Strong ERP/ MRP system knowledge and proficient with Excel.
  • Must speak English at a business-level.
