45 Cargo Flights in May: DB Schenker partners up with Icelandair on cargo flights between China and Europe

Capacities against the bottleneck: DB Schenker has set up a new daily air cargo connection between Shanghai and Munich. Three Boeing 767 passenger aircraft from Icelandair, converted exclusively for the leading global logistics service provider, will be used on this route. The first flight of the China Shuttle was already successfully completed on Sunday. "Where capacity is lacking, we create it. DB Schenker is thus also expanding the global supply network in the fight against Corona,”says Thorsten Meincke, Member of the Management Board for Air and Ocean Freight at DB Schenker.

Burberry donated 100,000 masks to the NHS and are air freighted by DB Schenker to the UK. As a response to the current market situation, experts at DB Schenker help ensure that critical shipments are given the priority needed. Pasta for Southern Germany

Supply has been secured: With a short lead time, DB Schenker supports ALDI in sourcing several hundred tons of pasta for more than 650 branches of the discount chain in southern Germany. Split up on to more than 500 europallets, the freight is carried directly from the supplier’s production in Italy to Germany. It is a multimodal transport solution involving trucks and cargo trains.

Honor flight for Healthcare Workers over Reykjavík in Iceland

The pilot of an Icelandair passenger aircraft carrying over 18 tons of medical supplies from Shanghai, China, to Reykjavik, Iceland chartered by DB Schenker flew in the shape of a heart over the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik. At the center of the heart, which was in honor of employees from the healthcare sector, was the hospital and final destination of the flight's cargo of medical supplies for the fight against Coronavirus.

DB Schenker in France donated 300,000 high filtration respirator masks to Public Health Agency (ARS in Nice)

In late March, the DB Schenker branch of Nice offered and distributed 300,000 high filtration respirator masks to the ARS of the Alpes Maritimes. The issue of sanitary equipment, including protective masks, has been recurring since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic. DB Schenker in Southeast Europe distributes disinfectants Anti-COVID from manufacturer DF Partner to doctors across Czech Republic

DB Schenker began distribution of the anti-COVID disinfectant produced by the family company and long-term business partner DF Partner. Priority shipments and free delivery directly to healthcare facilities, private practice of doctors and dentists, retirement homes, and social services.

Over 3000 3D-printed face shields for Spain

Airbus and partners used their 3D printing capacities to print urgently needed face shields in Spanish hospitals, which will be assembled on site. April 8th, 2020: Over 3000 3D-printed face shields are being delivered with DB Schenker from Hamburg, Germany to Getafe, Spain. The distribution is done by the Spanish army, which also has a location there. The shipment is expected to be delivered this Saturday.

From Schnapps to Disinfectants with Lautergold

Lautergold knows about alcohol. The traditional company from the Ore Mountains is known for its fine spirits and liqueurs. However, in times of the coronavirus crisis, the specialist for hard liquor had a very special idea: if you can make schnapps, you can make disinfectants, too. In no time at all, Lautergold initially offered alcohol to pharmacies for the production of disinfection solutions and in a second step, even set up its own production line for hand disinfectant. Throughout this process, they are always supported by DB Schenker as a flexible transport partner.
