In his various management positions in DB Schenker, Mads Lønborg has, over the past 16 years, provided good results on his own as well in collaboration with others.
For 16 years, Mads Lønborg has worked at the Kolding DB Schenker office where he started as a Freight Forwarder Trainee back in 2001. After completing his trainee programme and spending a few years working as a Freight Forwarder, he took on various positions as Team Manager, Department Manager and, most recently, Head of System, where he has been responsible for and been successful in building and expanding the Department into a market-leading General Cargo Department with a team of 24 competent employees.
To prepare properly for the new role, Mads has spent the last few years participating in a DB Schenker global executive training programme. This has taken him around the world and provided him with theoretical and practical training and development.
Mads has now accepted the position as Branch Manager of the Aarhus office.
”It is an exciting position which entails great responsibility for a large office in extreme development and it calls for a competent manager. We have advertised both internally and externally and many suitable candidates have been in play; however, Mads was the natural choice, as there was no doubt that he is the best qualified candidate for the position. So, I am very proud that, once more, we have developed and engaged a talent from within,” says Henrik Dam Larsen, CEO of DB Schenker Denmark. ”Mads has a thorough knowledge of Schenker and our significant network of traffic, and this is a benefit to both our customers and ourselves. ”
Mads is looking forward to taking up his new position as Branch Manager. ”This is a great opportunity for me, and I am grateful for the trust which the management places in me. When you show you have talent and are hard-working, many new opportunities arise in Schenker. I think, I am a good example of this,” says a proud Mads Lønborg and continues, ”Schenker is the absolute perfect place for me to work, because the focus is on both personal and professional development in a good working environment.”
Privately, Mads is married with two children and lives in Skanderborg. When he is not working, he enjoys a run in the forest and spending time with family and friends.
