EBS invoicing to customers

As earlier advised on our home page, the steam-ship lines have implemented a new surcharge EBS (Emergency Bunker Supplement), which has been in force for all sea freight-transports since 1/6/2018. The surcharge will affect all sea freight customers, who going forward will be paying as follows:

USD 62.50 per TEU for standard containers

USD 92.50 per TEU for reefer containers

USD 4.00 per W/M for LCL-shipments

On your next invoice you will therefore see a separate line for the sea freight surcharge EBS.

The surcharge is a consequence of the high jump in prices for fuel and oil in the latest year, which has not been reflected in the steam-ship lines’ BAF standard (Bunker Adjustment Factor), hence the EBS surcharge.

We hope for your understanding, and if you would like more information you are always welcome to contact us on +45 36 86 95 00 or dk.sm.cph.Ocean-product-pricing@DBSchenker.com.
