Ultra-modern Logistics Center strengthens DB Schenker’s lead position on the Italian marked

DB Schenker has invested 10 million € in the newest equipment in the fields of production, safety and technology so that the production efficiency is at the top and the building meets some of the highest environmental-, building- and safety standards.

Located close to the most important Italian highways and railroads to Europe, the impressive logistics center contains many environmentally friendly initiatives such as full LED lighting, solar panels and a rainwater recycling system. ‘The investment is yet another example of how we are fulfilling our ambition to be the industry’s leading environmental pioneer, which is part of our 2020-strategy,’ says Henrik Dam Larsen, who is CEO of DB Schenker Denmark, and continues: ‘By investing in the newest and most advanced equipment we are meeting the demand of our customers that we have the best quality. At the same time we are making work processes more effective thus increasing productivity which gives our customers competitive advantages so that they can grow.’

DB Schenker’s investment is for 22,000 sq.m. with 90 docks, 11,000 sq.m. warehousing and 2,600 sq.m. office space with room for expansion. The ultra-modern logistics center fulfills all the stringent demands for TAPA A Safety Certification and has been developed with the target of obtaining the highly recognized BREEM-Environmental Certification. (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method).

In September 2017 the logistics center was officially opened and will be one of the 31 branches totalling more than 140,000 sq.m., which services DB Schenker’s Italian customers.
