We are committed not only to serve our customers, but also serving society at large. This is our purpose, as we shape businesses and lives around the globe. That’s why we want to use our company challenge to make a difference and support organizations which help to make the world a better place. We will donate a maximum amount of 375,000 euro each quarter to support one charity organization which is linked to our overarching quarterly topics earth, water, air and people.

The first quarter will be dedicated to the topic of Earth. We have chosen WeForest as our partner to help reducing global warming. WeForest is engaged in conserving and restoring the ecological integrity of forests and landscapes. We will inform you about the dedicated projects and our mutual activities with WeForest during the first quarter of 2022.

In the second quarter we focus on the topic of Water and our business unit Ocean Freight. We support Ocean Conservancy’s work toward a clean, healthy ocean, including efforts to: ensure the ocean is free of trash and pollution; protect fragile ecosystems like the Arctic and Florida; advance sustainable climate solutions and prevent the worst impacts from affecting coastal communities and ecosystems; and reduce overfishing while preserving fish populations.

The efforts in the third quarter of our internal Leading the Way challenge will focus on the topic of Air and our business unit Air Freight. Together with our NGO partner atmosfair we are actively contributing to CO2 mitigation supporting a pilot project in West Bengal, India by subsidizing the sale of highly efficient wood gasifier stoves. In Burkina Faso, West Africa we support the expansion of the drinking water networks with more water kiosks. For more information please check the dedicated atmosfair page.
