Natalia in front of a green wall

Natalia is passionate when it comes to “green projects”

It is the time where every step counts.

There is an urgent need to increase the number and impact of green projects in Romania – Natalia identified this and being the Head of Procurement in the country she did not only look at the numbers, but immediately took action. “This is green” became a movement within the Finance, HR and Marketing departments in Romania.

Begin with a small step and keep moving – that has been Natalia’s attitude since joining our company in 2015. She inspires others to follow suit and find their own way when it comes to committing to sustainability. So, it is not surprising that she is one of ten colleagues who are participating in the green project, “This is green”.

If I trust my team, I don’t need to control them, I am then more efficient and can focus on additional tasks to bring value to the company and to society!

Portrait of Natalia

Begin with a small step and keep moving – that has been Natalia’s attitude since joining our company in 2015. She inspires others to follow suit and find their own way when it comes to committing to sustainability. So, it is not surprising that she is one of ten colleagues who are participating in the green project, “This is green”.

The project started in 2019 with the target of reducing C02-emissions by 279 tons p.a. through replacing heating systems, chillers, HVAC & LED systems. And an additional 7 tons through reducing paper consumption and the purchase of two electrical vehicles (Renault Zoe). They also created awareness by redesigning meeting rooms with a Green Theme. In 2020, Romania expanded the electric vehicle fleet with an additional eight Renault Zoe’s. Further they are recycling electronical waste.

For 2021 they have set further targets such as purchasing five light eco-trailers, expanding LED lightning systems, and replacing photocopy paper with recycled paper only. Further, they encouraged their colleagues to bring in their old electronics for recycling in exchange for a tombola ticket!

Now guess who has purchased all the LED systems, cars and recycled paper? Natalia is going even one step further; she has not set her power on purchasing only recycled office consumables for the next year. Of course, she is not doing it all on her own. Her team in procurement is supporting and collaborating with her in the overall Green Team in Romania. As a leader Natalia believes in the exchange of different perspectives, in the diversity of thoughts while at the same time believes in trust.

“If I trust my team, I don’t need to control them, I am then more efficient and can focus on additional tasks to bring value to the company and to society!” – Natalia Head of Procurement, Romania

It is lovely to see how a small step can turn into a movement, where colleagues can easily follow the path to a more sustainable world each day. We all should rethink our own actions and keep in mind that every step counts! Now we wish Natalia and her project team from This is Green in Romania a very happy season and a good start into 2022.
