The owner of this position shall execute & support implementation projects for the establishment of new DB Schenker Contract Logistics operations in accordance with the DB Schenker implementation method. She/ he keeps oversight of ongoing implementations in EU and their compliance with the DB Schenker implementation method. Furthermore, she/he trains & coaches other managers on the method and mindset as well as support the continuous development of this global approach.
The owner of the above-mentioned position will be a member of the European CL/SCM Implementation team. He/ she will report to the Head of Implementation.
In more detail the tasks of the position owner are the following:
Execute & support assigned implementations of customer-related projects meaning overall project management for projects in a certain (relevant) size and with strategic importance to the Region Europe. Within this responsible for the project deliverables in time & budget & scope.
Organize & lead assigned project reviews as milestones along every CL implementation covering the project evaluation points:
* Facility/ Building
* HR/ Staffing
* Solution design
* Implementation plan
* IT/ IT infrastructure
Monitor & report on the deployment and progress of CL/SCM implementation projects in the Region Europe
Train & develop & coach other project (implementation) managers in Region Europe and its countries on methods, tools, templates concerning the implementation of customer-specific contract logistics projects
Contribute actively to the further development of the DB Schenker Contract Logistics Implementation method.
He/she acts as a pro-active, positive, inspirational and constructive team member of the European CL community, both in the Regional office as well as towards all counterparts in the countries & clusters.
Participates in regular calls, meetings, face-to-face interactions with respective senior management in the RHO to raise awareness and advice innovations and excellence around PM methodology & PM Execution. Builds a productive and effective working relationship within the assigned project organization as well as within the European project management team. He/she is willing to travel international frequently and stay in the assigned country when applicable.
*Bachelor and/or Master degree in Logistics/Transportation
*Proven track record in (implementation) project management in Logistics/ Contract Logistics
*Excellent project management skills
*Deep understanding of logistics operations and implementation including design, system,
process and resourcing
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*Excellent Language skills in English (verbal and written), additional Language skills (European)
*Excellent Computer and software skills (MS Office, VISIO, MS project) at minimum
