Business Development Manager

Your tasks

Reporting to the Head of Key Account Management | Sales at DB Schenker Oman, He / She will be responsible for maintaining and developing field sales activities in the defined area of responsibility. He / She will also be responsible for acquisition of new customers, support service for the existing ones and general development of external sales relations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Acquisition of new customers and business extension
  • Identification of new business potential and customers according to the defined sales strategy.
  • Observation of adherence to new and existing customer agreements and processing of respective information from branches.
  • Close collaboration with customers to increase revenue & GP potential.
  • Analysis of market and identification of customer needs.
  • Setting and maintaining of good internal and external customer contacts.
  • Accountable for calculations, creation and coordination of offers.
  • Negotiation of rates within given frame task.
  • Accountable for management of credit approvals and regular checks for the own portfolio.
  • Creation of market and competitor analysis in alignment with business intelligence / strategy team.
  • Work off pre-set target customer list, addition of new customers to the portfolio.
  • Creation of activity reports and maintaining customer data within the CRM system – Sales Cloud.
  • Consultation with logistic solutions / product management and evaluation of previous experiences / problems with the customer; development of solutions under comprehension of all areas for the own customer portfolio
  • Conduct customer visits and maintain customer relationships at all levels.
  • Calculations, creation and coordination of offers
    • gt; Support to yearly sales planning , GP target achievement for own customer portfolio

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related area
  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven, professional experience in sales and marketing field preferably in freight forwarding / logistic industry
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
  • Territory / Local market knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving competence
  • Must be a pro-active person with a willing and a positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to think and work independently, but also within a team
  • High degree of flexibility, commitment, and willingness to learn quickly
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
