Executive, Operational Accounting

Your tasks

Job Overview
This position is responsible in billing to customers and leading the day to day operational accounting activities with effectively (i.e. accurate and prompt billing to customers, accurate on provision costing for end month closing, timely submission of invoices with complete documents, etc.) in compliance with company standard operating procedures and customer requirements
Job Responsibilities (duties / task)
  • Monitoring billing and costing for Import and Export Freight Forwarding.
  • Check all documents before perform billing to customers in order to maintain accuracy of invoicing with customer requirements and escalate to respective department when necessary (i.e. quotation validity, document return from custom and transporter, carrier, port charges etc.)
  • Check and review all provisional costs and P&L from time to time and rectify abnormal loss shipment reported.
  • Sort documents for invoice submission to customer and follow up dispatch note return to avoid missing of document and delay in payment.
  • Scan all invoices with supporting documents in the share folder for future references.
  • Resolve and expedite action to customer discrepancies or problems within own level of authority and communicate or escalate to Head of Department, Customer Service or Management when necessary.
  • Plan, prepare and revise work schedules and duty assignments according to customer needs, problems etc.
  • Update Head of Department of the shipment billing status at every month for closing.
  • Supports the Operational Accounting team and Customer Service Team actively through close interaction and co-operation where needed
  • Understand incoterm, comply with standard operating procedures and meet KPI's accordance with the Company procedures.
  • Accept any job responsibilities that may be assigned by Head of Department or General Manager from time to time.

Requirements

Job Specification (qualification, experience, skills, attributes)
  • Fresh Graduate or Diploma in accounting
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills in English and Malay (in speaking and writing)
  • Good computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Knowledge of incoterms and company system would be an advantage
  • Team Player and ability or willingness to learn and share solutions
  • Compliance to the company rules and regulations
