Introducing our Leadership Academy

Growing and supporting leadership is a significant strategic focus for our organization. We know that this ability doesn’t come out of nowhere – it is nurtured throughout a career. With our Leadership Academy, we take a systematic approach its development, running programs for individuals at all levels of seniority across DB Schenker. High potential talent are identified through initiatives like our annual Reviews and given the opportunity to enrol in courses that match their experience level and ambitions. Those already within leadership roles, on the other hand, are given the ability to advance their skills even further, based on the career trajectory they’re following.

No matter where individuals are in their journey, however, the guiding principles of the Leadership Academy remain the same: cultivating self-awareness, facilitating mindset shifts, enabling network expansion, and providing exposure. These factors ensure that critical experience is gained so that participants can upskill, supporting a sustainable leadership pipeline for our organization.

This is the program for individuals whose next career move will be into more senior roles, and its courses set the foundation for a successful transition. After some time in a leadership role, the next step is to prepare to lead other leaders. This program helps participants to grow their abilities to the next level, and ensures they are ready for positions such as site, business unit or function leadership.

Mentoring is an essential part of the DB Schenker culture across all levels of our organization – and it is a two-way street.
