DB Schenker receives the status of AEO for its Bonded Warehouse Air Freight operations in Indonesia

PT Schenker Petrolog Utama received the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification from Indonesian customs for its Bonded Warehouse Air Freight operations.

On 18 December 2018, PT Schenker Petrolog Utama received the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification from Indonesian customs for its Bonded Warehouse Air Freight operations.

The AEO certification allows customs in Indonesia to work with companies that can guarantee supply chain security and fulfill the requirements of WCO SAFE FOS (World Customs Organization SAFE Framework of Standards).

To obtain the AEO certification, Schenker's Air Freight facility underwent a thorough qualifications check. The process included amongst others ensuring appropriate records of compliance with customs requirements and showing prove of appropriate safety and security measures.

(Mr. Victor Lim, CEO of PT Schenker Petrolog Utama, received the AEO certificate from the Indonesian Customs Authorities at a special ceremony in Jakarta.)

The AEO status gives Schenker and its Air Freight customers many benefits in customs procedures. Benefits of the AEO certification include: faster service and lower transport costs due to fewer physical controls of goods and documents, reduced theft and losses and fewer delayed shipments.

Gunjan Dhingra, Head of Air Freight, Indonesia, said "we are pleased that we have received the status of AEO from the Indonesian customs authorities. We manage global supply chains and we have a special responsibility to our customers to provide our customers with safest logistics solutions possible and we work hard to be the first choice of our customers when it comes to compliance and security."

In Asia, DB Schenker is also certified in Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore (certified under the Secure Trade Partnership (STP) program).
