A New Sustainable Transportation Milestone: Waste Recycling Program

Our commitment to sustainable transportation has taken a significant step forward with the launch of our waste recycling program, initiated in mid-June 2024. This program, a collaborative effort with Waste4Change, addresses waste generated from shipments. Post-delivery, waste is collected and meticulously segregated into residue and recyclable categories. The recyclable materials, such as carton, plastic, paper, are managed by our partner, while residues, like wooden pallet, plywood, styrofoam, are handled by subcontractors who convert them into alternative fuel. This initiative represents an advancement in our sustainability efforts.

Aligning with Our Three Primary Sustainability Goals

The waste recycling program is the latest initiative in our comprehensive sustainability strategy, which focuses on three primary goals. The first goal is reducing CO2 emissions. By utilizing electric trucks and alternative fuels, we significantly cut down CO2 emissions for every shipment. This approach not only helps in mitigating climate change but also contributes to a greener future.

The second goal is maximizing cargo efficiency. Our double-decker trucks are designed to maximize cargo capacity per journey, reducing CO2 emissions per pallet. This innovation not only promotes environmental sustainability but also provides cost savings for our customers.

The third goal, highlighted by the new waste recycling program, addresses the environmental impact of waste from shipments. By converting residues into alternative fuel, we ensure that waste is managed in an eco-friendly manner.

Monitoring Progress with the Sustainability Dashboard

To support our customers in tracking their sustainability efforts, we have implemented a Sustainability Dashboard. This tool enables users to monitor and report the reduction of CO2 emissions resulting from transportation. Ajeng Nurul, Head of Land Transport in Indonesia, highlights the significance of this tool: “The Sustainability Dashboard represents a significant step forward in our mission to reduce environmental impact. It empowers our customers with the data they need to make informed decisions and encourages ongoing progress in sustainable practices.”
