DB Schenker’s Commitment to Social Responsibility: Making a Difference in Myanmar
In the face of recent devastating floods that impacted over 887,000 lives in Myanmar, DB Schenker has once again demonstrated our commitment to social responsibility.
We do this by collaborating with EuroCham Myanmar and trusted local NGOs like CPI*(1) and MAM*(2), DB Schenker in Myanmar played a key role in providing essential relief supplies to flood-affected communities. Through a joint fundraising event, critical materials such as food, medical supplies, and hygiene kits are being distributed to help those who need it most.
As a company that values sustainability and community well-being, we believe that our role extends beyond just logistics – it includes stepping up to support those in need during times of crisis.
*(1): Community Partners International (CPI) is an NGO that empowers vulnerable communities in Asia to meet their essential health, humanitarian and sustainable development needs. ince September 12, CPI has collaborated with 15 partners to provide flood relief in flood-affected areas in Myanmar, delivering food, water, blankets, clothing, rice, and tarpaulin to over 20,000 people. Additional responses are planned in coordination with more partners.
*(2): Medical Action Myanmar (MAM) is an NGO that aims to improve access to quality health care in Myanmar by targeting poor, marginalized, and vulnerable people. In the current context of floods, it is also providing efforts on emergency flood response and recovery, mainly focused on Taungoo township in the Bago region, which is affected by severe floods.
Recognition for Our Efforts
Our efforts were recently honored with an appreciation award from EuroCham Myanmar, alongside other European companies. This recognition underscores the significance of corporate responsibility in times of crisis. It is not only a reflection of our team's dedication but also a testament to the collective power of businesses that choose to invest in the social well-being of the communities they serve.
