Since more than 40 years, Earth Day has been celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for environmental protection. This year, on April 22nd, 20 DB Schenker employees in Hanoi partnered with volunteers from other companies in the Bat Khoi area in Hanoi to participate in this global event. The team joined together to collect waste and clean the streets in Hanoi. In addition, local people were educated on the health risks of burning trash compared to disposing of it responsibly.
The Earth Day event was a success for the second straight year. Although this success did not come without challenges. Many of our colleagues had to wake up very early and travel far to participate in the event. With high spirits and the willingness to make a difference the DB Schenker team showed up in green t-shirts ready to walk the talk, and they did! The team cleaned the streets and handed the waste bags over to Earth Day staff for proper disposal.
