End of March, the control system SENT will be taken into use in Poland. This system gives the Polish authorities the ability to monitor the import and export of a number of beforehand determined goods, in case they do not have a customs destination.
The system aims to reduce VAT fraud. The new rules concerning this system will not only apply to land transport but also for air freight, shortsea and multimodal transport.
Which goods are covered by the SENT procedure?
The SENT system applies to goods with the following codes. For the detailed descriptions and the associated limits please download the PDF at the right.
Product codes: 3403, 2710, 2905, 2707, 2917, 3824, 3826, 2207, denatured alcohol, raw tobacco.
Shipments to Poland:
When you ship goods which are covered by the SENT regulations to Poland using DB Schenker, you are obliged to mention the SENT application number and Carrier Key in your booking. These numbers should be requested by the recipient in Poland in the SENT system and they have a validity of 10 days.
In your booking, you can specify the numbers in the field "Marks and numbers”. Without a SENT number and Carrier Key we cannot ship your goods to Poland.
Shipments from Poland:
When you import goods which are covered by the SENT regulations from Poland, and DB Schenker is your logistic provider, you are also obliged to mention the SENT application number and Carrier Key in your booking. The shipper in Poland should provide you this SENT application number and the Carrier Key. When the shipper books the shipment at DB Schenker, he should specify the SENT application number and Carrier Key in the field "Marks and numbers”. Without the numbers the shipment cannot be loaded.
