“Today I’m 37 and I will never know nor be able to thank all the people who supported the research that saved my life.”
Mareike Zlateff, Key Account Manager Schenker Khimji’s LLC, Oman continues to tell “that’s why participating in the cancer walk is so impactful for me. The funds raised and the research we support will lead to new treatments and ultimately to lives saved. It is a privilege to be involved, to encourage others to participate and recognize the families of the cancer victims as well as to provide a sense of togetherness for cancer fighters and survivors. It is important to further the advocacy and introduction of the word ‘cancer’ along with its meaning to our youths and to create the sense of volunteerism in our society. The Cancer Walkathon is a truly glorious community event.”
Schenker Khimji’s LLC, a DB Schenker entity in Oman recently decided to participate in the 16th OCA (Oman Cancer Association) Walkathon to show support for the cancer survivors as well as raise awareness for this devasting disease which personally affected one of the team members. The walkathon; which saw over 7000 participants; is organized with the vital goal of emphasizing the importance of early detection in the fight against cancer. This year’s motto was: Together We Win!
It was an honor for the organization to contribute to such a cause.
