El proceso de reconstrucción comienza después de la desapropiación y la pérdida de numerosas bases en la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
 

1931 - 1945

En 1931, Schenker & Co. GmbH es adquirida por la entonces Deutsche Reichsbahn y en adelante está bajo control estatal. Después de la toma del poder por los nacionalsocialistas en 1933, el director gerente judío Marcell Holzer es destituido de su cargo y arrestado, mientras que los puestos decisivos en los órganos de gestión y supervisión se llenan con miembros del partido NSDAP.  

Ya en 1933, los órganos de supervisión y la dirección despiden a los empleados judíos en Alemania y más tarde también en las filiales extranjeras, con algunas excepciones.

Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Schenker participa ampliamente como agente de carga en el armamento y la economía de guerra y se beneficia activamente de sus estrechos vínculos con la Deutsche Reichsbahn. Schenker expande sus actividades empresariales, especialmente en los territorios ocupados y conquistados de Europa Del Este y Central.

Schenker transporta bienes, municiones y material de guerra importantes para la guerra, y también realiza transportes para la Wehrmacht, la economía militar y los suministros militares. Schenker también está involucrado en los "transportes de desalojo" de bienes confiscados y saqueados.  

En 1944, Schenker es nombrado "Agente de Carga de Confianza del Reich".

El papel de Schenker durante el nacionalsocialismo está siendo investigado actualmente como parte de un estudio científico exhaustivo realizado por la Gesellschaft für Unternehmensgeschichte. El estudio está destinado a ayudar a responder a las preguntas de investigación abiertas hasta la fecha. Las preguntas de investigación se centran en la participación activa de Schenker en las "arianizaciones" y el trabajo forzoso. Una vez finalizado el trabajo, se publicarán sus resultados.
