Mar 5, 2021 New DB Schenker terminal in the south-eastern Poland in operation DB Schenker in Poland launched operations in the new terminal in the zone "Rzeszów Dworzysko" • The facility has nearly 6,000 square-meter area • The investment amounted to about €10 millionGoods of DB Schenker's customers who do business in South-Eastern Poland are already being handled at a modern land transport terminal. The facility, built in accordance with the best standards of sustainable construction, was set up on a 4.4-hectare parcel of land in the Rzeszow-Dworzysko Science and Technology Park. The terminal took over the operations of the company's current branch in Rzeszow, while offering more space and possibilities: 5,400 square-meter area of operational space, 58 gates, several hundred square-meter area of office space and staff facilities. “In January we opened a new terminal for Lublin region, and another one in February, for customers from the Podkarpacie region. Our investment in new facilities during more than a dozen months was around €20 million. We do not stop despite the pandemics. We have carried out advanced works connected with new investments in our logistics network. During these challenging times, our priority has been high quality and reliable customer service”, says Piotr Zborowski, CEO North & East Europe at DB Schenker.The facility in Rzeszow is a part of the network of 430 DB Schenker terminals in Europe, dedicated to serve road transport for customers in different sectors. The new location has excellent traffic connections with the S19 express road and the A4 motorway, as well with the airport Rzeszow Jasionka. The entity responsible for the construction was Panattoni which cooperated with the operator also with respect to other projects.The terminal is safe and friendly both to its employees and to the environment. It received solutions ensuring saving energy and water, and also a dedicated ramp for snow removal from truck roofs. The certification of the building has been pending using BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) determining the highest standards concerning the sustainability and comfort of use.
