First-class logistics for the world’s largest e-commerce event

Peak Management on the world’s busiest day for online shopping. DB Schenker is handling all logistics for a prestigious US fashion house during China’s Singles' Day.

On Singles‘ Day, prices are cut drastically and discounts between 50% and 70% encourage millions to click and close an online deal. The Chinese version of Valentine’s Day poses immense logistical challenges for DB Schenker.

DB Schenker in China has been responsible for handling logistics for the Singles' Day promotional event for an American fashion retailer for ten years now. In just seven days, the team manages to successfully process up to two million items ordered online by customers within a 24 hour period.

Last year, DB Schenker shipped daily around 270,000 packages to end customers on China's Singles’ Day.

For an entire week, 2,500 associates worked 12-hour shifts to ensure that orders are processed round the clock at DB Schenker's two warehouses, which cover an area of 23,000 m².

„For us, the rush begins a good two months earlier, when we make the final preparations."

"During that time, we make sure that everything runs smoothly and that Singles' Day is managed to the fullest satisfaction of our customer."
