Position Description Summary:
Responsible for all phases of developing and implementing training programs, practices, and procedures. Scope of responsibility may include supervisory and/or management development, operations training, and technical or non‑technical skills training courses for internal staff. Interface with functional organizations to perform needs and/or task assessment. Determine optimal delivery method, media, and documentation. Deliver instruction via most appropriate method. This may include, but is not limited to, classroom instruction, facilitated discussion, hands-on learning, or CBT. Conduct training evaluations to determine applicability of course material and effectiveness of training.
Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
* Implement and monitor training department objectives, standards, policies, and procedures
* Serve as internal consultant to staff and operations departments to perform needs/task assessments for job related training, and advise staff and line management regarding the accomplishment of their required training missions
* Design and develop training to achieve identified development needs and performance objectives
* Coordinate and facilitate internal and external resources as part of training project management
* Develop training based on established operational procedures to achieve stated employee behaviors
* Design, develop, and deliver computer-based training using instructional systems design, and authoring, graphics, and deployment software
* Develop and implement evaluation tools for measuring employee knowledge and performance, and training effectiveness
* Deliver training classes
* Generate and maintain training records and reports to monitor completion of training requirements
* Revise and update training programs and corresponding course material
