The Role
We are seeking a Tender Analyst to join our busy NSW team.
Position summary:
The Tender Analyst plays a critical role in producing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to win new customers and protect existing business. The Tender Analyst leads cross-functional teams during the entire project life-cycle, from initial evaluation of an opportunity to final deliverable. Above all, the Tender Analyst provides timely and insightful business analysis to decision-makers for each opportunity.
Departmental/Operational Key Responsibilities may Include:
- Lead tender opportunities and coordinate with internal stakeholders;
- Lead Tender opportunities as the project manager, collaborate with other to accurately and comprehensively define project scope and deliverable to satisfy customer requirements;
- Simultaneously manage and monitor several tender projects according to set timelines and agreed processes;
- Review rate validity and update rates in a timely manner to ensure correct billing at time of shipment (incl. new tender rates);
- Develop internal pricing rate sheets and compile price charges from different sources;
- Perform a variety of financial and statistical analyses to evaluate profitability, risk exposure, "what if" scenarios such as consolidation, etc. for each opportunity;
- Correspond with and provide pricing related information to internal/external customer;
- Develop competitive quotation and proposal responses for DBS's key accounts;
- Show initiative and take responsibility - assist internal/external customers in the absence of team members;
- Raise Corrective Action Requests for all issues.
Competencies, Education, and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Logistics (or equivalent) is a plus;
- At least 3 years of experience in freight forwarding industry;
- Air and ocean freight experience;
- Experience in customer pricing or quotation or billing;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Must demonstrate attention to detail;
- Proficient with MS-Office products, especially MS Excel, where advanced skills and experience are required;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the team;
- Ability to work with people on all business levels;
- Exceptional administration, organisational, time management skills and the ability to prioritise;
- Dedication and commitment to deliver best-in-class service to internal and external customers.
