Job Overview
This position is responsible for maximizing the practice of efficient fuel purchase and fleet consumption through management of fuel economy at USA Truck. This position provides oversight and management services to the Procurement Services Division. You will manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned tasks.
What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)
- Minimize fleet cost per gallon (CPG) through efficient fuel and DEF sourcing.
- Maximize miles per gallon (MPG) performance of fleet operators.
- Perform fleet audits and advise driver managers
- Maximize card services (Comdata) efficiency through process review and incorporation of industry best practices
- Identify areas for cost efficiency
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or like discipline, or 5+ years of experience specific to fuel purchasing and supplier negotiations
- 1+ years experience in the Transportation industry
- 1+ years experience utilizing MS Excel in a Finance environment •1+ years experience managing 3rd party vendors •1+ years experience performing fuel audits
- Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.

- WORKING CONDITIONS. This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to: •Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. •Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines. •Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects. •Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions. •Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions. •Travel domestically as necessary.
