Manager of IT Governance

Your tasks

General Description / Purpose

Managing and controlling the regional Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) lifecycle by establishing the global ICT Management System within the regional IT organization to ensure effective and efficient global IT steering in the means of global strategy-, processes and standards-, budgeting and controlling-, security-, sourcing and supplier management. In strong alignment with Global IT Governance, the Regional IT Governance Manager steers the regional IT Governance organization via functional reporting relationship by aligning on structures, standards and governance rules. He/she is functionally reporting to the Regional Head of IT Governance and Regional CIO.

Tasks

Accountable

  • Performing all regional ICT activities and duties in area of responsibility in accordance with all legal requirements, SOPs, guidelines, rules of procedures, by-laws, compliance and global IT Governance rules
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of the overall ICT strategy of DB Schenker Logistics in the region (area of responsibility) in alignment with regional business strategies of all Internal Business Units and Board Functions of DB Schenker Logistics in strong alignment with the global IT Governance
  • Enforcement of the globally binding ICT Management System including ICT processes, methods, standards, tools and measurement/scorecard system in the region (area of responsibility)
  • Performs regional (including countries) implementation of the globally standardized ICT budgeting, functional and operational ICT controlling and steering process in strong collaboration and alignment with Global IT Governance DB Schenker Logistics to generate regional cost transparency
  • Ensure the implementation of the globally standardized contract- and supplier management framework including procurement of ICT services, software, and licenses in the region (area of responsibility) according to global IT Governance guidelines
  • Ensures the establishment and enforcement of the global ICT security framework to ensure fulfillment of corporate and legal requirements such as data security and compliance in the region (area of responsibility) according to global IT Governance guidelines
  • Primary for the budget of regional IT Governance teams

Responsible

  • Develops and annually reviews the regional ICT strategy of DB Schenker Logistics according to global IT Governance guidelines and in strong alignment with regional business
  • Supports the design, communication and maintenance of the global ICT Management System and its content, such as policies, guidelines, and processes in the region (area of responsibility)
  • Supports the design and maintenance of a global role model and ensures the compliant implementation in the region (area of responsibility) by defining job families as important input for e.g. career paths model developments in strong alignment with regional business and global IT Governance
  • Supports the development and maintenance of a consistent regional organizational blueprint, including functional descriptions, organizational standards and reporting line patterns for the regional IT Organization based on corporate IT Governance rules and standards and in strong alignment with regional business and global IT Governance
  • Implements the global ICT budgeting and controlling process with special attention to increased transparency of global costs of IT business services in the region (area of responsibility) according to global IT Governance guidelines
  • Implementation of ICT security standards in all country organizations in the region (area of responsibility) according to global IT Governance guidelines
  • Serve as the interface of the ICT organization to the Data Security as well as Compliance departments in the region (area of responsibility) following global IT Governance guidelines
  • Implementation a global IT sourcing strategy in the region (area of responsibility) according to global IT Governance guidelines to generate cost synergies
  • Execution of contract management, sourcing activities and steering of ICT suppliers and service providers in the region (area of responsibility) according to global IT Governance guidelines

Consulted

  • Supports all country organizations of respective region regarding integration and alignment of their financial and functional ICT budget into/with the overall ICT budget of DB Schenker Logistics
  • Supports all country organizations of respective region regarding quality assurance of the standard approval process of ICT investments worldwide
  • Supports all country organizations of respective region regarding the implementation of the global ICT Management System to ensure consistent usage of globally binding standards and processes
  • Supports all regional Business Units/Board Functions as well as countries with regards to development of detailed specification of business requirements and utilization of global project management methods and standards for ICT projects

Requirements

Requirements

You should have following characteristics for the position:

  • Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics or a related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years of information technology experience
  • Experiences in IT governance organizations, processes, and management approaches
  • Profound knowledge and management experiences in ICT lifecycle frameworks, ICT Management systems, IT steering, IT strategy, IT processes and standards, IT budgeting and controlling, IT security, IT sourcing and supplier management
  • High communication and social competencies combined with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups of business and IT stakeholders throughout the region
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of industry standards, frameworks, and methodologies in IT Governance (COBIT) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and methodologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of Project Management and Service Management (ITIL) practices are preferred.

Pay: $96,000-$128,000
Bonus Potential: 15 percent
