Trade Advisory Specialist II

Position Description Summary:

This position will serve as a direct support of DB Schenker Trade Advisory Solutions business. Responsible for Trade Advisory product such as, ATA Carnets, Letter of Credit, US Certificate of Origin, Online Trainings, Consulting Services for Import and Exports and HTS classifications.

Principal Accountabilities

(The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):

  • Provide as directed line support with customers and vendor partners
  • Communicate detailed Trade Advisory products offerings, as required.
  • Keep current with transportation regulatory agency regulations and requirements as they pertain to imports and exports. Other duties may include maintaining account records, such as order history and forecasting reports.
  • Maintain our company-customer relationships at a high standard.
  • Other duties as assigned. The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.

    Working Environment:

    Assignment Complexity - Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensure budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met.

    Accountability - Manage activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers or professionals who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and employees. May not have subordinate managers.

    Impact of Decisions - Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities.

    Working Relationships - Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.

    Scope - Establish operational objectives and assignments and delegate assignments to subordinate managers or professionals. Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying, and executing corporate policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.

    Essential Functions:

    Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests.



Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

(The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):

Bachelor's degree in a business related field or equivalent work experience is required. 1-5 years of logistics industry experience is required. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, and presentation skills required. Previous sales experience strongly preferred
