One of the most important topics in today’s business world is sustainability and its overall impact on global carbon footprint as well as company’s business models.
As such, there is a growing awareness in the logistics and transportation industry about the need for achieving the critical balance between global supply chains and ecological as well as economical challenges towards reducing our customer’s overall ecological footprint.
As a leading provider of global logistics and transportation services, sustainability is implemented as a core of our business practices – from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), to sustainable growth and reducing our carbon footprint as well as developing new products and collaborating with our suppliers and partners. By integrating these principles into every aspect of our business, we are committing ourselves to being a sustainability leader and socially responsible business partner in the global communities we serve.
Vision & Strategic Framework
The DB Schenker sustainability vision and strategic framework help us deliver on our company purpose “advancing businesses and lives by shaping the way our world connects”.
It also incorporates the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), helping to benchmark our ambitions. Each building block has what we call a “mission-SDG” which is the area where we want to lead our industry, and some “commitment-SDG”, which are areas where we want to do our part in driving progress.
The sustainability Framework consists of the building blocks Clean Logistics, Thriving Communities, and Shared Value - all supported by Global Partnerships.
