Rolling up our sleeves to beat COVID-19

DB Schenker are proud to have played a part in accelerating the COVID-19 vaccine roll out in Australia by organising vaccination clinics in areas severely impacted by COVID-19.
Working with State and Federal Governments and an independent medical provider, DB Schenker have secured and administered Pfizer vaccinations for staff in areas most impacted by COVID-19 outbreaks. The first vaccination hub was located on site in Sydney for staff, contractors, and family members from the same household. With a significant portion of employees residing in highly impacted local Government areas and a number of DB Schenker sites in these LGAs, assisting workers with access to vaccinations, particularly before the Government mandate of required vaccinations for authorised workers was implemented, was a priority.
Melbourne staff were also supported with Pfizer doses secured and appointments made available through an independent provider at a medical clinic near the company’s Melbourne distribution centres. Nationally, DB Schenker partnered with a medical provider to deliver an easy and secure way to book COVID-19 vaccinations at convenient times and locations. These appointments were made available to all DB Schenker staff, family, and friends.
Above supporting the vaccination roll out through making appointments available, DB Schenker has assisted with the response to the COVID-19 pandemic in various ways. This includes the ongoing operation of supply chains and distribution centres, providing vaccine incentives to staff in Australia, and the import and distribution of air purifiers for schools.
“The vaccination hubs, appointment options, and allocations helped us to support our important and valued staff to ensure we could keep supply chains moving,” said CEO DB Schenker Australia and New Zealand, Craig Davison.
“The safety and wellbeing of our workers has been a priority. We are proud to have championed this initiative to protect our team’s health and enable our community to get back to normal, faster.”
