“Hoxton Park is the newest and largest contract logistics facility for DB Schenker in Australia. Our staff will provide for our customers first class logistics services in this well positioned facility right on the Sydney freeway network. We will also utilise the facility as a hub for our domestic transport network” said Ron Koehler, Chief Executive Officer Australia and New Zealand “For our FCL container movements we will be able to move containers cost effectively to Hoxton Park for timely distribution to our customers in Sydney”, concluded Ron Koehler.
The facility will incorporate Automated Transport Sortation Systems that will allow for the consolidation of multiple Customers’ freight, into the rapidly growing Schenker Domestic Transport business. In addition, a vast array of Value Added services will be provided on site including an Advanced Technical Centre providing configuration and testing for IT devices.
“DB Schenker Australia is consolidating existing business into Hoxton Park as well as adding new substantial business” said Michael Harich, Director of Contract Logistics/Supply Chain Management AU/NZ. “Hoxton Park is a key part of our 2020 strategy to grow to 500,000sqm in Australia and at the same time combine existing smaller sites into larger facilities to generate synergies”.

DB Schenker’s Batonbearers prepare to share the dream of the Gold Coast2018
DB Schenker is proud to announce that 6 of our employees were chosen to participate in the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games!
The Queen’s Baton Relay continues to connect DB Schenker with the Gold Coast and the entire Commonwealth! The Baton engages with all Commonwealth nations and territories of Africa, the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania for 288 days before it arrives in Australia for a further 100 days. The Baton arrives into Brisbane on Christmas Eve and approximately 3,800 batonbearers will carry it through every state and territory in Australia. For one month during the school summer holidays, the Queen’s Baton will visit major events, iconic landmarks and children’s hospitals across the country. The traditional relay will resume in Canberra on 25 January 2018 and will be carried by great Australians through QBR celebration communities around the country. Schenker Australia is happy to support our employees who were chosen to represent DB Schenker and Australia!
Our lucky Batonbearers are:
Congratulations! You have successfully made it through the selection process and are now a Batonbearer for the Gold Coast 2018 Queen's Baton Relay! The Relay started on Commonwealth Day, Monday 13 March 2017, at Buckingham Palace when Her Majesty placed her message inside of the Baton.
https://www.gc2018.com/article/queens-baton-relay-enroute-gc2018 "Receiving the Queen’s Baton from Her Majesty was an experience that will be hard to top. It was a privilege to be able to share the moment with my long-time friend and fellow competitor", Victoria Pendleton. The distinctive design of the GC2018 Queen’s Baton captures the boundless energy of the Gold Coast. In form and inspiration, the Baton is a symbol of our past, present and future. The Queen’s Baton arrives on the Gold Coast for the XXI Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony on 4 April 2018, where the Prince of Wales will remove Her Majesty’s message from the Baton and read it aloud to declare the Games open.
Premier of Queensland Annastacia Palaszczuk, announced the GC2018 Batonbearers and said that the list of names, selected through a community nomination program, is a great reflection of Australia. “The lists of names have been compiled by judging panels in each state and territory, allowing local knowledge to play the greatest possible role in the selection process,” the Premier said.
“The batonbearers recognise the achievements and aspirations of Australians from all walks of life, from ambitious 10-year-olds to humble volunteers and well-known Australians from a variety of fields”. The Premier also revealed the uniform that batonbearers will get to wear with pride as they carry the Baton. “It will be a treasured keep-sake of their special role in GC2018,” she said.
It will be 60 years since a Baton first carried Her Majesty’s message to athletes of the Commonwealth at the Cardiff 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Wales. Watch the video here
