May 28, 2018 European-wide launch of “Premium 10”: DB Schenker introduces new time definite and guaranteed delivery DB Schenker is introducing a unique product novelty. From now on, customers may choose with DB SCHENKERsystem premium an additional option that is even faster and more efficient: “Premium 10”. With this new system freight product option, companies will benefit from time-definite service and guaranteed arrival of their shipments by 10 a.m., the latest. As early as last year, the integrated transport and logistics service provider completely overhauled its system freight network and successfully introduced its products, DB SCHENKERsystem and DB SCHENKERsystem premium, to the market. Daily transport links between all European business centers facilitate faster distribution of goods; hence, more flexibility in production for European companies. With Premium 10, DB Schenker optimizes its products and offers to its customers another substantial advantage in terms of delivery periods.“The new Premium 10 option is all about speed and reliability. It is an efficient solution for all companies wishing to receive their shipments quickly when they are unable to wait until midday. This gives our customers a major edge in terms of one of the scarcest resources – time,” explains Christian Drenthen, Executive Vice President of Land Transport at DB Schenker in Europe. “We are pleased that, with Premium 10, we are offering to our customers time-definite and guaranteed running times throughout Europe, which also enables us to better meet increasing just-in-time production requirements of companies”, adds Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and South East Europe. Premium 10 is the logical addition to the Premium 13 option, which was implemented in March this year.More than 20,000 employees for the European economyThe DB Schenker network setup, which seamlessly connects the company’s more than 430 land-transport locations in 38 European countries with a state-of-the-art production system, is designed to accommodate the growing demand for cross-border shipments.Being the largest land transport carrier, DB Schenker is able to consolidate freight shipments and, through applying an innovative platform strategy, significantly reduce transport times, hence carbon dioxide emissions. More than 20,000 staff take care of around 300,000 consignments a day. Thanks to state-of-the-art tracking technology, the status of each consignment can also be monitored from any place at any time.System FreightIn logistics, system freight refers to all goods that can be loaded as individual pieces – e.g. boxes, crates, pallets loaded with machines or factory components, cable, paper, sheet-metal rolls and reels, and barrels.DB Schenker’s network of line-haul shipments and hubs extends across the entire European continent, which means that all vehicles can be used to full capacity in the most productive manner possible.
