New leadership for DB Schenker in Europe and cluster SEE

Helmut Schweighofer is the new CEO of DB Schenker Europe. From the office in Germany he assumes the responsability for the company’s largest business region in the world.

Helmut Schweighofer began his career 30 years ago as an apprentice at DB Schenker. He completed his studies in international corporate management and held various positions within the Group in England and Bulgaria, as well as the position of branch manager at DB Schenker Vorarlberg. In 2013, he was appointed to the Management Board of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Europe and has successfully led the company since 1 February 2016 as Chairman of  the Management Board.

As Chairman of the Management Board of DB Schenker Europe, Helmut Schweighofer, said at the time of his appointment that he sees his central role as ensuring that "DB Schenker is sustainably positioned as a quality leader and further expanding the company's success". To this end, he aims to clearly define responsibilities, exploit existing potential and optimize existing processes in order to offer customers in Europe even more and better integrated solutions.

After Mr. Scheweighofer took over the management of DB Schenker in Europe, the company annonced the appointment of mag. Alexander Winter as the new CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Europe.

Born in Vienna, he graduated in law and began his career at DB Schenker around 20 years ago. He has been a member of the management team since 2013, where he was responsible for Ocean Freight and Contract Logistics. Prior to that, Alexander Winter worked in the Salzburg and Vienna branches, where he headed, among other things, the Vienna office and the Ocean Freight division.
