Increases in road taxes (MAUT) as of December 1, 2023

New road tax (MAUT) levels as of December 1, 2023

The German federal government has announced major increases in the German road tax (MAUT) as of December 1, 2023, for commercial vehicles over 7.5 tons. The increases are part of the green transition, related to CO2 emissions and a tax imposed and collected via the German road tax (MAUT).

This will have an impact on the cost of road transportation with Germany and on transit traffic via Germany. Changes are also in the pipeline for other countries ex. Belgium, Hungary, Austria, and Denmark.

We are currently calculating the impact of these legislative and tax changes on our customers' transportation agreements and pricing with us. We will inform you about this as soon as possible.
