    Increases in road taxes (MAUT)

    Effective from December 1, 2023

The German federal government has now approved the increase in road tax rates (MAUT), which will come into effect on December 1, 2023. The increase will be between 70% and 83% for vehicles in the EURO 6 emission class.

The measure is part of the green transition and relates to CO2 emissions and a tax imposed and collected via the German road tax (MAUT).

These legal increases have an impact on costs and freight rates - not just on transports with Germany, but transports to and from most European countries, all of which mainly transit via Germany.

Our freight rates are thus affected and regulated as of December 1, 2023:

    *Depending on country relation.

The applicable regulation will be stated separately on the invoice.

If you have any questions or would like to request a country- and product-specific list of the individual regulation rates, please contact your DB Schenker contact person.
