Meet Arya, a woman in IT and a cloud computing enthusiast

Although IT is stereotypically perceived as men's domain, more and more women pursue their career paths in infotech. Meet exceptional women in DB SCHENKER IT Structures whose stories can be an inspiration to others.

Arya had joined TSC India in April 2019. She is a second-level technical consultant for solving escalated complex user-related queries. Arya is also one of the key members managing the PST migration project in APAC and coordinating with the AMEC team during odd working hours. Her contribution is worth notable with fast-tracking open query escalations, creating useful SOPs, troubleshoot various cases of PST migration, while also assisting the team in related issues with perfect camaraderie. 

Arya is a cloud computing enthusiast. With the plethora of opportunities offered at TSC India, she feels great to be a part of our evolving global setup.

Tell us about your journey as an IT professional. How is your experience with TSC India so far?

I have graduated in the Electrical Engineering stream. But as the scope was a bit limited in it, I was drawn towards exploring opportunities in the IT domain. Today my strong technical expertise and recognition in IT credit go to my continuous learning and self-motivated attitude.

My current experience with TSC India is worth counting each day. During my joining days, my team has been rock-solid support and helped me in grasping things efficiently. My managers are supportive and make sure that I’m always equipped with a project to scale up my learning graph. One of the best thing about working here is the ‘freedom of expression’, we are free to choose and work on projects on our interest levels.

What do you find most interesting about your current job at TSC India?

I like the fact that while solving IT - related issues and interacting with users/partners, I also get a chance to know the culture prevalent and best practices from them. I also feel enthused, engaged by participating in various employee engagement activities conducted by the HR team like quizzes, creatives online contests, etc. it is surely Work with Fun out here!

Talking about the current pandemic ‘WFH’ scenario, how are you tackling your work?

My focus has been the prioritization of the tasks assigned. TSC India’s management team has ensured that we have all the requirements to complete our tasks efficiently. One upside of the COVID situation is that my traveling time to the office and back home has reduced. It helped me to ensure a good work-life balance and overall wellbeing. Under the umbrella of TSC India's E-Learning initiatives, I have learned Artificial Intelligence, Python, and advanced topics in MS Excel.

On the personal front, I have achieved my health goals. I feel more future positive, accomplished as an individual, surely counts as an achievement for me in these times.

Tell us more about your work-life balance. What do you like to do in your leisure time?

I like exploring new places and have travelled, discovered a lot of interesting places. Before lockdown, I have been to places like Jaipur, Mussoorie, Goa to mention a few.  I love singing Marathi songs … and I‘m always surrounded by good music. It drives me positively. When my colleagues are singing songs, on a lighter note, I too start singing with them.

Who is your source of inspiration in your professional and personal life?

Rashi Bhardwaj - my current manager, is one inspiration to me.  I look up to her every day. Her achievements balanced and poised attitude towards life makes my interaction and learning fruitful.
On the personal front – no doubt I’m my favorite and I like the way I‘m seizing the opportunities, and enjoying it.  But it is my family’s, and, especially my husband’s constant support, that encourages me to go that "extra mile" and achieve more in every facet of my life.”

The advice you want to share with girls looking for a career in the IT domain?

Information Technology is where you learn something every day with great opportunities. Do it, love it, and keep your mind open… then the sky is also not the limit!

My simple and effective recipe for success & life decisions is “if you want to change the output, change the input”.
