Head of Global Projects and Industry Solutions - UK & Ireland
We are seeking a talented leader to spear head our Global Projects and Industry Solutions team in our UK and Ireland Cluster. The successful candidate will lead the development, implementation, and growth of the project organization and project logistics business. If you have extensive experience in leading large, complex global industrial logistics projects or are a talented leader in Ocean Freight Forwarding then we want to hear from you!
Location: Within commutable distance of either our Basildon or Aberdeen sites. Hybrid working can be supported. Travel to other sites across the UK & Ireland Cluster and internationally will also be required.
What will you be doing?
- Responsibility for the UK & IE Global Projects and Industry Solutions team
- Overall financial responsibility for the project business area UK/IE
- P&L Management
- Close collaboration with all areas of Global Projects & Industry Solutions across DB Schenker
- Ensuring effective pipeline management
- Continuously improve operational processes in alignment with the corporate strategy and customer requirements, maintaining effective control.
- Develop sustainable strategies to secure increased sales volume and enhance sales quality.
- Strategic expansion of customer relationships in the UK/IE Cluster
- Further development of operational workflows, controlling processes, etc.
Requirements
About You
- Significant experience in project logistics business
- Proven technical and leadership experience.
- Market knowledge and customer contacts in various verticals
- Relevant experience in Out-Of-Gauge (OOG), Non-Common-Load (NCL), Break-Bulk and multimodal heavy and oversized transport would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of sea freight (FCL, Ro/Ro), air freight, land and rail transport
- Customer-oriented way of working
- Possessing a robust commercial mindset and the ability to think and act strategically.
- A collaborative approach with effective, confident communication skills
- Ability to drive change and innovate.
- Willingness to undertake regular business trips nationally and internationally.
- High standard of written and spoken English
