The role is to provide proactive day-to-day management of site based tasks and activities to successfully deploy agreed continuous improvement frameworks and initiatives ensuring compliance with business mandated processes. This may include (but is not limited to): Korea focused Continuous Improvement initiatives; Korea plans to meet strategic Operations Excellence targets; Project and initiative management or work group participation in cross border initiatives; reporting and stakeholder management at various levels.

 

Both LEAN and 6Sigma approaches should be deployed in line with APAC programmes, frameworks and standards to deliver sustained site-based Operations continuous improvement.  The role is to ensure visibility of all Continuous Improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility. Initiatives and focus’ include (but are not limited to):

  • Operations Standards across: Health & Safety; 5S & Visual Management; Performance Management; Process Management; Business Continuity and Continuous Improvement
  • Strengthen Continuous Improvement capability, mindset and culture
  • Continuous Improvement programmes
  • Operations performance enhancement through productivity & error reduction focus
  • Labour & equipment Management.  
  • Operating costs and benefits management
  • Team Coaching & Training

Requirements

  • Manage all aspects of complex Continuous Improvement projects from identification of improvement areas, execution of problem solving, prioritizing solutions, testing, hand-over, tracking & reporting out benefits 
  • Ability to run operations for a defined duration when necessary 
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding status reporting; work extensively with site and Operations Managers to drive continuous improvement outcomes
  • Possesses a hands-on approach, comfortable navigating ambiguities and managing priorities, able to multitask and work under time pressure
  • Excellent facilitation, moderation, and training skills; possess strong persuasive skills when presenting proposed solution(s) to customers (when necessary)
  • Strong analytical skills with good commercial and technical understanding in the context of a 3PL environment
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude to overcome problems effectively and able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A team player and able to build strong rapport and credibility within the organization
  • Fluent command of spoken and written English
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Willing to travel interstate or overseas on projects as required for agreed durations


Experience and Qualifications

  • University or Polytechnic graduate in Logistics and Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or from a relevant technical field 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience running complex Logistics Operations in a site/Operations leadership capacity, including P&L accountability 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the logistics, 3PL and supply chain industry across various market segments (e.g., electronics, healthcare, consumer & retail, automotive, etc.) 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in CI Framework deployment; practical implementation experience in CI methodologies and tools with a focus on Lean in a warehouse/shop floor environment and in leveraging digitization. Formal certification is advantageous 
  • Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt); Project Management (PMP Certified) are added advantages
