DB SCHENKER Launches eActros Electric Truck, First in Southeast Asia, in Singapore
Paving the Way for Sustainable Logistics • Providing carbon-neutral land transport • Total of 3 electric trucks added to eco-fleet in 2023
Today marks a monumental step forward for DB SCHENKER Singapore as the all-electric eActros was unveiled in a handover ceremony from Daimler Trucks. Introducing a total of 3 electric trucks for heavy goods this year alone, DB SCHENKER is setting a new standard for sustainable logistics as the industry leader in sustainability.
Since the successful launch of the first heavy goods vehicle for logistics in Singapore back in April, DB SCHENKER is proud to be at the forefront of providing carbon-neutral transport. The eActros being the first in Southeast Asia, reaffirms the next phase of their journey towards carbon neutrality.
Heartfelt appreciation to key partners such as Daimler Trucks South East Asia and Cycle & Carriage, who diligently analyzed the business requirements and recommended the suitability of the eActros to meet operational needs. The partnership with Daimler Trucks began in Germany, where both headquarters signed the acquisition of 100 eActros trucks. This collaboration has now extended to here with the introduction of the first-ever eActros for Southeast Asia, right here in Singapore.
Deployed in collaboration with land transport partner, Meteorite Logistics, the electric plays a pivotal role in reducing CO2 emissions when transporting fashion and luxury goods imported via airfreight across the island, expected to cover a range of up to 300km. The goods are flown into Singapore using sustainable aviation fuel, thereby completing the full-suite carbon-neutral solution offered by DB SCHENKER with green land transport.
The eActros is not merely a vehicle; it's a statement of DB SCHENKER’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2040. By embracing innovation and fostering partnerships that prioritize eco-friendly solutions, they pave the way towards a future of sustainable logistics and ultimately a greener world.
