DB SCHENKER Singapore holds its first sustainability forum

Discussing sustainable solutions in the current market • Moving towards sustainable development together • Hybrid forum open to online participants

In recent years, the sustainability landscape within the supply chain and logistics industry has transformed significantly, driven by an increasing awareness of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and the demand for real action with tangible outcomes. As companies recognize the urgent need to mitigate their environmental impact, the supply chain sector is becoming a pivotal area for implementing sustainable practices.

DB SCHENKER Singapore recently hosted its first-ever Sustainability Forum, bringing together thought leaders and industry experts to share best practices, discuss challenges, and explore collaborative solutions to advance sustainability in the supply chain and beyond.

The forum welcomed over 70 guests in person, with around 80 participants joining online from various parts of the world. The three-hour program featured four keynote speakers who shared their expertise in different aspects of sustainability:

Catherine Soo, CEO of Singapore & Malaysia Cluster, DB SCHENKER: “Typically, a company has its own target and differs in its journey towards carbon neutrality; therefore it is important that we come together as a community to share best practices and knowledge and further advance together. “

Beyond the insightful sharing by experts, the forum was an opportunity for off-stage discussions during the dedicated networking session. Attendees engaged in conversation about finding new collaborative avenues across various industries.

DB SCHENKER Singapore is taking the lead in the industry with the launch of the first fully electric heavy goods vehicle for logistics in early 2023 and the upcoming RedLion2, designed to be a carbon-negative logistics hub, set to be completed in Q1 of 2025. It’s not always about the green solutions, the company also strives to promote an eco-conscious mindset among its workforce through employee-managed green gardens and circularity initiatives with pre-loved corners.
