Planting a Greener Future with NParks
To commemorate 150 years of DB Schenker, we marked this significant milestone by sponsoring 150 trees with NParks. DB Schenker Singapore will be planting trees in support of the OneMillionTrees movement — a nationwide initiative by NParks to plant a million trees across Singapore.

A total of S$45,000 in donation was formally committed to Garden City Fund under the NParks with a cheque presentation ceremony by Dr. Niklas Wilmking and Charlie Kok, CEOs of APAC and Singapore respectively to Mr Tay Boon Sin, Director of Parks, National Parks Board.
Kicking off the very first planting session on 9 September, CEOs, Dr. Niklas Wilmking and Charlie Kok led the tree-planting event by planting the very first tree into the soil. Our colleagues got their hands dirty and planted a total of 50 trees along the stretch of Rivervale Street in a short span of 2 hours. The weather was also perfectly timed, blessing the newly planted tree saplings with a quick downpour. The trees planted are growing fine and steady, enhancing the lush greenery of the neighborhood, and contributing to climate resilience.
Cheers to our colleagues who braved the rain and shine to plant the trees, supporting the greening of Singapore and upholding our identity as the City of Nature. Every green effort counts, and together, we can make great improvements to the liveability of our planet.
Besides this tree-planting initiative, DB Schenker Singapore is already active in several green projects. We are proud to have our very own green fingers club where colleagues can maintain our greenery and gardens. But the club isn’t just about gardening, the vegetables and fruits cultivated from our gardens are used in our canteen and consumed. After which, food waste from the canteen is processed into organized fertilizer for our gardens to grow more produce. It is our vision to be a sustainability leader, and to that end, we strongly advocate an environmentally conscious workforce where colleagues can actively take action to create a circular economy.
The next tree-planting session for the remaining 100 trees is already in the works with NParks. Stay tuned for more or catch us in action next time!
